WatchersI have enduring respect for natural materials. The works in the Watcher series reflect a reordering of found materials - to extend its life and pay homage to the material. Found wood seems to possess a yearning to live again. In this series of work I am responding to this vibration. The Watchers are observers of the urban environment, standing guard over the natural. They exist to remind us of the power of nature and our relationship to the natural world.
