Ben Goodman: Bodies of Work |
CollaborationThis series developed soon after I graduated from the Ontario College of Art. I began to view the landscape through new eyes - found objects, the architecture of trees and plants, and the urban structures in the made world. All of this began to influence my work.
Wood, glass and metal are structural materials used in the made world. An observer could conclude that man's architectural efforts using these materials pale beside the design in nature. The work in the Collaboration series uses the contrasting qualities of wood, glass and metals to express this view. These works focus on the coexistence between the made and the natural environment.
